A fairly small showing today at Centotre, (Ewan McIntosh, Chris Muir, Tim Maguire, Andy Hyde, and me), but what we lacked in quantity we more than made up for in quality.
What's more, we decided to liven up proceedings with some less than flattering, verging on the dodgy portraits of all concerned. (Except me, Mike, who kept resolutely the right side of the camera lens.)

Ewan.

Chris.

Andy.

Tim.
Topics covered today, included our opinion of 'Airport Trucks' as a worthy successor to 'Gorilla' from Cadbury's. General consensus; it isn't/wasn't. Perhaps they should have got Michael Mann to have shot it?
We wanted it to be terrific, we hoped it would fulfil all the pre-launch buzz-management that was showered upon it, but it's just a bit, er, ordinary. Shame. But the bar was set extraordinarily high with it's predecessor was it not?
We also got a bit het up about the merits of typepad vs. wordpress, (again!) Mobile phone apps. Mobiles in general, particularly iPhone and will they/won't they launch 3G soon. Oh, and the 'topless' issue that seems to have blown up recently, whereby laptops are being increasingly banned from meetings, in an attempt to get attendees full attention. (Ewan are you listening? Ewan! Ewan! Oh, I forgot, you have to look at your laptop to read this. OK. As the King of multi-tasking, you're excused.)
I also pontificated a bit about Canon's prosumer HDV camera's, the Rode directional mic vs. Canon's own version, and hard-drive vs. tape dv cameras.
(Ewan is going to India and Florence in the next couple of weeks and wants to be suitable digitally tooled up for the trips.)
Twitter, as always came into the conversation, as did funerals, strangely enough, and if you should worry about your creative work, photography or ideas being nicked online. (Anybody who has seen my photography will know I haven't the slightest worry on that score. I should be so lucky. In fact I'd be strangely flattered. But as it hasn't happened yet, I can live in hope eh?)
Last but not least, we got a lovely surprise when we were given a clutch of highly sought-after private invitations to Centotre's 4th birthday party in a fortnight or so.
Nice one Carina and Victor.
