Rob, my uber connected, far-sighted digital mentor in NZ, just sent me a link to this, the Girl Effect.
I think it's brilliant, and in so many ways.
It's core argument. The script. The animation. All right on the money.
Even the logo is awesome, (reminding me of the similarly inspired FedEx 'arrow' logo design.)
Rob, my friend, sending me this link had made my day.
And commit not only to 'Pay it forward', but to do my bit for the project.
Starting with this post.
I am a man. I haven't always felt this way, but I do see women and men as equally valuable. I am not from a developing country, but I have been to several. It is hard for me to believe that the gender group that makes up the biggest percentage of the earth's population is being so grossly mistreated. I feel that the girleffect advertisement is somehow blaming men for the unequal treatment of these girls/women. If we are all equally responsible for our own success/happiness/health/fate, then how can these one-sided statistics be true?? Is it just bad luck? Wipe your tears out of your eyes, pick up your things, and keep moving forward. Or don't, you're free to do as you please.

The logo is stunning. The message ("profits = progress") is a bit partisan.
Also, does anyone else find that the use of "$" as a universal symbol for "money" is becoming slightly anachronistic? I see € more and more in advertising and literature.
Anyway, enough heaviness for a monday morning!
