I'm rubbish at this internets lark.
I'll soon be like Joe Bilden and forget my own "website number" (sic.)
The more observant of my readers, (I know there are one or two of you out there who fall into that category) will have noticed that I haven't posted here for quite a while.
I blame it all on Twitter, luring me away with it's charms.
Oh, and also the fact that I have to work for a living, and can't be poncing about all day here swapping blog small talk and tittle-tattle with the likes of you.
(No matter how much fun that might be.)
Anyhow, the 'missing blog post' syndrome is being rectified as I write.
And I will endeavour/promise/try/attempt/commit to post more frequently.
Particularly when there's so much good social media stuff to write about these days.
Edinburgh Coffee Morning at Centotre is now really flying. We're now up to 2 booths, with overspills numbering 20 or more of Edinburgh's "Social Media Elite". (Just popped that in for Google's benefit ;-)
In a sense it's getting too big, in that I miss out on some many great conversations going on across our Friday morn get-togethers.
What's more, I don't know who half the people are now. Not a great claim for a host to make I admit, but I'm among friends here right?
('Perhaps you should less time Social Media pontificating & outbursting Mike, and more time remembering names?' Just a thought. Ed. aka Wifey who often proof-reads/changes my stuff before posting.)
Today Andy Hyde brought us up to speed about his Berlin trip, David Petherick his Dublin conference adventures, the world's youngest Professor aka Jon Mountjoy on his MacBook Pro woes and successes with the Apple Store in Glasgow, Darcie Condie her great result in getting the 38minutes/Channel 4 job, Andrew Burnett regaled more 'Ardbeg Thursday' tales, Jim Wolfman was wearing his presentation suit and looking the biz, Juliet Wilson was looking almost as gorgeous as Jim, and Colin Gilchrist introduced me and the ECM regulars to Andy Gilpin from e-Business West Lothian.
I even wangled an invite to their West Lothian Social Media Workshop on the 11th March.
So all-in-all another cracking ECM.
When's the next one?
Oh, 0800-0900 Friday 6th March.
Next week, Carina has suggested the staff set up tables for us, along the back of the room to make for less cloistered conversations.
Let's give it a go and see how it works?
ps. I've linked to all the people above via their Twitter accounts. My thinking here is, yep, I could have sent you to their respective blogs, but if anybody has been as tawdry as me, there might not be too much fresh stuff there. However by following their Twitter links, you'll often get not only a link to a web site anyways via their profile, but a more up-to-date picture of what's going on for them right now. And as an added bonus, a few suggestions for friends of theirs to follow on Twitter.
It also of course makes entering all those urls a lot easier for me, as a twitter users name is a doddle to remember/find as opposed to a web site url.
Always thinking ;-
Good call, and forgiveness is always given for the common cause :-)

Nice post Mike. Pretty soon it will be standing room only and we'll have to mingle around tables, eating nibbles with a cup of coffee in our hands, straining to see our name badges, and having no place for our Macbooks... Looking forward to the new layout.
